The benefits of a non-surgical facelift
The benefits of a non-surgical faceliftIn 2017, the beauty of modern technology means you no longer need surgery to reverse the effects of ageing. In a bygone era, getting a facelift would mean intrusive surgery, painful treatments and a long recovery time. Often with unnatural looking results. Thankfully that is no longer the case.
What is a non-surgical facelift?
A non-surgical facelift allows you to grow old gracefully, just with a little bit of help.
Whether you’ve only recently started noticing the effects or ageing or want to smooth out some wrinkles you’ve had for a while, there are non-invasive procedures out there to suit everybody.
A non-surgical facelift does exactly what it says on the tin, making you look younger, brighter, fresher without any surgery – plastic or otherwise. No more saggy skin or deep wrinkles.
Non-surgical facelifts are the cheaper option
Traditional surgical treatments are nearly always expensive and will set you back a few thousand pounds at a minimum.
Regardless of what you’re getting done, taking the non-surgical route will nearly always be cheaper because it’s far less intrusive.
The cost will always depend on the size of the area you want to get treated, as well as the number of sessions required to reach the desired result. Generally speaking you’ll find that no more than three sessions will be needed, so there’s no need to let the costs spiral out of control.
The pain and recovery time is next to none
While some treatments may require the use of local anaesthetics or painkillers, this is relatively rare. It is unlikely you will have any issues with pain or discomfort following a non-surgical facelift.
The risks are minimal, and extremely minor next to those of more traditional surgery. The only symptoms you might experience are blisters, small bumps, redness, temporary swelling or slight pigmentation changes. However this is extremely rare.
The recovery time for your body to heal after non-surgical treatment is drastically less than the more traditional option. To put it in perspective you’re looking at a matter of days rather than weeks.
The benefits of a non-surgical Botox facelift
Chances are, you’ll have heard of Botox before. Whatever you’ve read, when used in moderation the transformational benefits of Botox are incredible. In short, they work by blocking the nerves that contract muscles, preventing wrinkles before they’ve even appeared.
Using Botox as part of a non-surgical facelift can tighten and revitalise the face. Small amounts are injected underneath the skin or into the muscles to produce very natural looking results.
Unlike conventional surgery, side effects are very unlikely. At worst you’ll get a minor headache or temporary bruising, but when you follow all of your doctor’s instructing (such as avoiding certain medicines before treatment), any adverse effects are extremely rare.
The results are a smoother texture on the face, noticeably smaller pores. This will last an average of three to six months, but can easily be extended with additional treatments. After each procedure, the healing time in minimal.
The benefits of a non-surgical laser facelift
Many people choose to get non-surgical laser facelifts to look much younger and to boost their self-confidence, all for a reasonable price and without putting themselves through surgery. Compared to a chemical face peel, there is no bleeding involved which means no discomfort or long recovery times.
This is also known as laser resurfacing, and involves removing wrinkled or damaged parts of the skin on a layer-by-layer basis. The results are recognisable right away, and you will notice a reduction in the number of wrinkles – particularly in wrinkle-prone areas like the eyes and mouth. The appearance of fine lines will also be minimised.
Non-surgical facelifts you can do at home
While the results are less permanent than getting Botox or a laser facelift, they are ways you can reduce the signs of ageing at home.
A celebrity secret for years, face tape is the cheapest alternative to getting facial surgery and comes at just a fraction of the cost. Available in most beauty stores for under £20, this method involves stretching the skin to the outside of the face with special tape. The results are instant, making the skin appear healthy and smooth.
Another option comes in the form of a serum facelift, which tighten and tone the skin naturally. With instant results, the effects will typically last for six to eight hours. What’s more, the ingredients in the serum will also help to prevent wrinkles over time. There are different types of serums for every skin type, so we recommend asking a beautician to help guide you to the right one.
If you’re looking for more permanent non-surgical options, Botox or a laser facelift might be for you.
